The two significant that I have chosen from Chapter 13 are the California Gold Rush and the Dred Scott Decision. Both these events changed the face of America considerably during that period. California Gold Rush brought more and more people to San Francisco and made it a major city and also boosted economy to a great level. The Dred Scott Decision, on the other hand, made the slaves realized that no matter what they will never be the citizen of the United States and that they had to struggle really hard to get to that position but in a way it created a stir amongst those who supported anti-slavery and pushed the movement further.
